MTO process could release the lack of petroleum and diversify the raw materials of the production of light olefins. In the proven reserves of fossil fuels accounted for 94.3 percent of coal, oil and natural gas accounted for only 5.7 percent. With the increasing of the international crude oil prices and the rising of domestic demand of crude oil annually, domestic oil production has been far from meeting the needs of rapid development of the national economy. Therefore, in order to guarantee the sustainable development of China''''s national economy, optimizing China''''s energy structure, reducing the dependence on oil imports and making full use of China''''s abundant coal resources and advantages, vigorously developing high-tech industries of coal chemical, coal chemical products alternative to petrochemical products , have become China''''s energy strategy for the inevitable choice.
 Coal Chemical Industry uses coal as raw material to produce gas, liquid, solid fuel and various chemical products. Coal chemical industry includes coal chemical processing, second chemical processing and depth of the chemical processing. In recent years, due to the international crude oil and natural gas prices and lack of domestic oil and gas resources, accelerating to develop new coal and coal chemical industry has become a hot chemical industry concerns.
 
 In recent years, R & D in the areas of China''''s coal gasification and liquefaction of coal, coal chemicals co-production and carbon chemicals made significant progress, and have formed a series of independent intellectual property rights of the new technology. However, China''''s new coal chemical industry is still in the early stages of development, the existing coal enterprises can not truly become the main body of technological innovation. Institutions and universities are the main body of technological research and development. The institutes R & D strength and the enterprises financial resources are of great significance for promoting the development of high-tech industries to solve China''''s energy shortage problem and to develop the energy and chemical industry.
 
 Cooperated with LPEC and Shaanxi New Coal Chemical Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd. (Xinxing), DICP have been accomplished the 10KTA-scale industrial experiment, and got further comprehension of DMTO process in engineering design. 10KTA-scale MTO industrial experiment unit have been successfully run, and the appraisal of the DMTO industrial experiment project was achieved. DMTO technology is in a leading position in the world. The success of DMTO industrial demonstration provided a good example for the development of new and high technologies with independent intellectual property rights.
